Welcome to Viñedos del Maule
THE VERGARA FAMILY’S
The Vergara family’s ties to agricultural activity in Chile’s Seventh Region date back more than 200 years when some of Domingo Vergara y Núñez’s descendants came to live in the zone and began acquiring parcels of land and gradually approaching the province of Curicó in the Central Valley to establish both dry-farmed and irrigated estates
Later, in 1890, the young farmer Clorindo Vergara took charge of one of the estates, which he had inherited from his father. He recognized the agricultural potential of his lands and planned to expand his property because he knew that he had found the source of the agricultural work he wanted to do.
He achieved a great presence in the Seventh Region through his deep knowledge of the zone, reaching sectors such as La Huerta, Rauco, Licantén, Curicó, Romeral, Teno, Cauquenes, Linares, and beyond.
Clorindo’s descendants have maintained the same passion for the land for well over a century. In more recent times, they have put the best lands in the zone to use for fruit production and have grown apples, cherries, and raspberries for use in preserves and natural juices for more than 40 years.
VIÑEDOS DEL MAULE
VIÑEDOS DEL MAULE: AN ENOLOGICAL VISION THAT EXPRESSES THE TERROIR OF CHILE
As a result of their desire to develop new product lines, and being fully aware of the Maule Valley’s virtues for wine grape production, the Vergara family decided to begin making wine. They work with the best growers in the region to obtain the grapes they use to produce Chardonnay, Carménère, and Cabernet Sauvignon wines
that fully express their terroir.
And so it is that the entrepreneurial spirit and hard work of small local producers, plus the family’s deep love for the Chilean countryside has created the perfect union that has given life to Viñedos del Maule.
“Our wines are the result of strong passion, deep technical knowledge, and above all else, the sensitivity of our enological team that achieves a very personal character in every one of our creations.”
Carolina Vergara, Commercial Director.
